Want to run away and join the circus...
...but you're too young???

Circus Camp is the next best thing!

Since the minimum age for Moose Campers is 18, we want to tell you about a great opportunity for young people ages 12 - 16, located less than an hour from us:

Dates: June 8 - 14, 2008

Saint John's Prep School is proud to present a great one-week residential camp for high-schoolers to learn the following:
- juggling
- rolla bolla
- clown skills
- aerial web
- stilt walking
- magic illusions
- puppetry
- rolling globes
- make-up techniques
- circus history
- and lots more!
....with 2 - 4 public performances
"under the BIG TOP" with live music!

A professional circus performer for 13 years, Br. Paul-Vincent Niebauer, OSB, began as a clown in 1974 and went on to become performance director and ringmaster for one of America's largest circus companies. Br. Paul-Vincent and the rest of the talented and capable staff at Circus Camp strive not only to teach basic circus skills, but to heighten awareness of community and team effort dynamics, calling each student to be a part of the ensemble, while simultaneously giving focus to his or her individual development.

Circus Camp is limited to an enrollment of 23 applicants. The low student-to-teacher ratio ensures that everybody will have amble attention in every class and the training they need to hone their skills. A young person can really flourish in this supportive environment, where they are totally immersed in the performing arts with kids their own age. There is nothing else like this in the mid-west (and perhaps in the country)!

Pricilla Mooseburger (Tricia Manuel) visited Circus Camp while her own daughter was attending and was truly impressed. She recommends it to every parent of an aspiring clown or circus performer - they'll be well taken care of and receive the very best of training!

Morning, afternoon, and evening sessions will be spent rehearsing basic circus skills and integrating those skills in solo and ensemble performances. The camp will culminate in a number of performances which are open to the public. The all-inclusive $380 covers lodging, tuition, meals and a camp shirt (a $50 non-refundable deposit should accompany your application.) Campers must have health/accident insurance. Saint John's Preparatory School does not provide insurance.

Saint John's Prep is located in Collegeville, MN, 13 miles west of St. Cloud, 90 miles northwest of Minneapolis and St. Paul on Interstate 94.
